Job Description

you will be helping the Global Head of Security to build his companys security program from almost the ground up. I say almost because the Global Head of Security has been with this multi-national company for approximately 1 year already. He is now building out his team around the globe and you can be the first person in this role covering the Americas. If you are comfortable with a desk job in a large corporate office, this is not the career move for you. If however, you get excited about the hard work that goes into building a global security program from the ground up and youre ready to roll up your sleeves to do what it takes to build from the ground up with support from the companys CEO and Board of Directors, this could be the most exciting role youve ever stepped into. The ideal candidate will already live in Panama, Colombia, Chile, Argentina or Peru. This person will have extensive global experience working in the worlds most high-risk areas. This person may have had a highly specialized military background as the Global Head of Security does. The ideal candidate may have done global security consulting work in companies that operate in challenging places such as Asia, the Middle East, Africa, South America, etc. This role is being created to build security where threats have been considered and to ensure that the appropriate risk mitigation measures are in motion to reduce risk to people, assets and company brand and reputation. Work with Regional Security managers from around the globe to build a global security function while reporting to the Group Head of Security. Create and implement security policies, procedures and standards. Ensure that these standards are implemented, communicated and sustained across North and South America. Ensure compliance with corporate security policies and standards. Address specific country regional security requirements. Investigate security incidents. Apply corrective actions to security incidents. Work closely and collaboratively with local management and staff with regards to the development, implementation and sustainability of security programs. Review local business requirements to determine appropriate security requirements. Ensure that security requirements are built into statement of work, standards and documentation. Work with security focal points within each region to address any security issues. Arrange that all necessary security training is available to personnel. Provide security analysis in your regions to keep the Group Head of Security informed and to enable regional business units to make appropriate decisions based on unique security threats and trends in their regions. Keep abreast of security and political risks within your regions. Provide monthly and ad-hoc reports to the Group Head of Security and local management where necessary. Monitor changing risk ratings within your regions and inform appropriate business leaders of issues such as country evacuation status and implementation of evacuation. Conduct security risk assessments of facilities and operations.

Job Requirements

Corporate Security, Law Enforcement, Government Intelligence and/or military backgrounds in internationally deployed capacities are required. Formal qualification / certification in security risk management or equivalent and/or proven experience in a similar role. Deep experience in physical security, security risk management, personnel security, security investigations and crisis management is required. Demonstrate prior experience in high environments such as (but not limited to) Afghanistan, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Venezuela, etc. Must be fluent in English (Written and Spoken) Must demonstrate spoken fluency in Spanish. Demonstrate physical ability to respond to emergency situations. Demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning abilities. Must be able to build collaborative relationships across business units and across many cultures. Demonstrate excellent presentation and facilitation skills required to communicate with large groups of people.
