For several years running, application security has been one of the industry's hottest and most difficult to find skill sets. Our client provides application security consulting services and shows a record of consistent and significant growth. This company helps its clients to build software that is very difficult to hack. Successful hires in the past for this company include individuals who bring leadership, business development and sales experience from system integration companies, the professional services arm of software companies and have run IT professional services organizations. This role reports directly to the CEO. The CEO is committed to mentoring the Managing Director to grow the company's presence in the Western half of the US by 30-40% per year. You will join preeminent thought leaders in the field of application security and application assessment services. These thought leaders have invested nearly 20 years to build a combination of proven methodologies, tools and best practices that meet each client's unique secure software development and application assessment requirements.

Job Requirements

The Managing Director is a senior executive who is responsible for a unique mix of sales, leadership, management and consulting skills. The Managing Director is accountable for business development, successful project delivery, profitability, customer satisfaction, employee management and has responsibility for 30-40% growth annually in the Midwest and Western territory. The Managing Director will: Develop strong and lasting relationships with clients, effectively sell follow-on work to clients, assist sales in selling new business to clients, ensure contracts are properly managed and serve as an effective escalation point for client issues and problems on engagements. Provide client support to multiple clients from account planning to sales, delivery, and follow through. Balance client services with effective resource utilization. Possess sufficient knowledge in application security so it is appropriately perceived by the client that you exude credibility and are the key decision maker. Select, build and lead a team to achieve and attain client satisfaction. Provide motivation, career development and guidance to a team of consultants located primarily at client sites. Make hiring, termination, salary and promotion recommendations. Influence the company's risk management efforts by providing business perspective and ensuring efforts permeate throughout the company's risk management activities. Oversee the accuracy, completeness, and compliance to internal and external expectations of the project deliverables. Qualifications and Experience: A BA/BS is required. Master's level education preferred. Requires 8+ years experience running a systems integration or professional services practice. Experience running a security consulting practice is highly preferred. Must demonstrate 12+ years experience selling consulting services, with some experience selling security consulting services (preferably application security, but network, IT, etc. is acceptable) Prior Profit & Loss responsibility for minimum $5M budget. 15+ years of experience managing and leading software engineering and/or security consulting teams and executing projects consistently & successfully. Confident, highly effective proven relationship builder. Proven ability to grow a practice 30-40% annually. Sufficient application security knowledge to effectively communicate the value of our services to the client and translate that to revenue.
