This is a Security Engineering / Architecture contract assignment expected to last approximately 6 months with the potential to be a contract to full-time conversion. Our client needs assistance with a variety of tactical security engineering projects in the security architecture realm. You will implement security technology updates, upgrades and capacity and performance tuning to a variety of security systems. You'll provide subject matter expertise within the following realms of security: Access Control Systems and Methodology, Cryptography, Operations Security, Security Architecture and Models, Physical Security and Network and Internet Security.
A BA/BS is strongly preferred combined with a CISSP and other certifications such as the GIAC and/or vendor specific certifications such as a CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, etc. This is a hands-on security engineering role rather than a security policy / procedure creation role. You must demonstrate 5-10 or more years experience in network security engineering / security architecture work with significant exposure to 8-10 of the following subject areas: Specific hands-on experience with Check Point, CISCO, Symantec Products, Content Filtering, Email Filtering, Intrusion Detection Products, Firewalls, Encryption Products, Snort, Database Security, Application Security, Penetration Testing, Patch Management, Anti-Virus, Spyware, Configuration Management, Incident Response, Cryptography, Digital Forensics, etc. The more depth and breadth of experience you can demonstrate in the security architecture realm, the more intriguing your background will be to our client. Candidates within commuting distance to Madison, WI are strongly preferred although consultants needing Per Diem will be considered.
