We have been retained by this hot Information Security Software / Solutions company to locate their first US sales person. This person will start out being a hands-on, bag carrying producer but will be challenged in time to build the North American sales organization. Our client was founded in 2003 and now employs approximately 25 people. Our client is on target to double 2005 revenues in 2006 and is profitable. Your target market will include on-line gaming, on-line retail, ISPs, financial services, logistics, pharmaceutical and more. A potential customer is any company with a significant percentage of their revenue based around an on-line presence. As the company grows, it is beginning to sell to very large enterprises that desire their services as an "On-Demand" insurance policy. The title of this role is still being determined and will depend on the individual who best fits the job. Initially responsible includes sales across North America, but focused on the Northeast, specifically the New York City area. Desirable candidates will be within easy commuting distance to Manhattan or will live in NYC. The person who fits this role will have a significant say with respect to North American sales strategy, pricing, product management and marketing. This role reports to the CEO. Responsibilities include: Handling sales leads to completion as well as proactively targeting and approaching potential clients; Helping existing partners drive sales leads to completion as well as introducing / managing new partnerships; Making inroads into government sales. This role will not likely have any direct reports for 6-12 months. This is a home office based position. A New York data center will be established within the next 12 months along with other locations across the US. Compensation includes a base salary with commission that has no cap.
This role requires 4-10 years experience with a technical sales background to include the sale of software, managed services, networking technologies, and information security. Candidate must demonstrate a successful track record of meeting sales and financial goals while selling in the NYC financial marketplace. Candidate must demonstrate significant relationships in the financial services markets and the ability to grow one's contact network. Experience selling to the government is preferred. As this is our client's first US sales person, you must be comfortable working from a home office and must demonstrate past success in working without a significant amount of structure in start-up environments.
